RSLC staff first began working with Edward in April 2005 when he became a resident at our Giltinan Center. Over the next three years, Edward would have five intakes at GC and would eventually become a resident at our Twin Cities Center. In August 2008, Edward was discharged from TCC and moved in with friends. By the end of August, he was sleeping on the streets. SHAPE staff began working with Edward and his girlfriend on obtaining safe, affordable housing. Edward was diligent about following up with staff.

In October 2008, Edward and his girlfriend moved into their own apartment together. Edward, who is in his late 30's, reports that this is the first time in his life he has signed a lease. SHAPE staff is now working with Edward on obtaining furniture, budgeting and basic living skills associated with maintaining an apartment.
