06/03/08
Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center, Inc. today announced a partnership with Target for sponsorship of their Mending Families Together Program. Through the support from Target, RSLC will continue their project that offers anger management, conflict resolution and communication for both men and women in ALL shelters. The 12 week on-going sessions will further offer information, concepts and strategies to those who have had unsuccessful relationships, poor work experiences, poor educational experiences and for the most part, un-fulfilling lives. The program will continue to be facilitated by providers with specialized training in the areas identified herein.

“We are so grateful that Target saw an imperative need in the Greater Kanawha Valley and took responsibility in helping us address the issues of homelessness and violence. We believe that through this Program, the men and women we serve will be able to utilize the skills and information gained to repair damaged relationships, improve existing relationships and move forward more effectively in their future. We look forward to
continuing to work with Target in the future as RSLC continues to grow and diversify through our programs”, said Julie Alston, Co-CEO of Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center.

This grant is part of ongoing efforts by Target to strengthen families and communities throughout the country. Since opening its doors, Target has given 5% of its income to organizations that support education, the arts and safe families and communities. Today that translates to $3 million every week.
